Tillage Section
The Tillage enterprise gives students an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of arable production. The crops sown include Sugar Beet, Spring Barley, Winter Barley, Winter Wheat, Potatoes and Maize.

The main cereal crop grown is Spring Barley. A number of varieties are grown for comparison purposes. Recent yields have reached 6 tonnes/ha..

There are 42 ha. of eligible land on the farm, and 25 ha. of crops are grown each year consisting of

The main cereal crop grown is spring barley. A number of varieties are grown for comparison and students take an active part in management and costings. Maize has replaced fodder beet as a forage crop on the farm.
